A HOTEL in Cebu is taking Pride Month to a whole new level by renaming its fan-favorite pastries and baked goodies with LGBTQIA+-themed names that are as bold and beautiful as the community they honor.
Quest Hotel & Conference Center Cebu isn’t new to allyship. For years, it has quietly but consistently championed LGBTQIA+ rights through partnerships, programs and policies that go beyond surface-level support.
Now serving sweetness
This year, the celebration comes with extra color and flavor. Their kitchen is serving up the Rainbow Cupcake, a swirl of colors topped with creamy joy; the Pistachio Pride Cake, rich, nutty and gloriously layered; the Queer-sant with Ham and Cheese, flaky, savory and full of character; the Badingka, a rainbow twist on the classic bibingka that’s proudly local and loud; and the Love Wins Pistachio Crombolini, a sweet, crisp treat that’s proud to stand out.
The theme for this year’s celebration, “Happy to Be Loved,” is baked into every bite because for Quest, inclusivity belongs at every table.
A significant portion of the proceeds from these Pride-themed treats will go to LoveYourself Cebu, a nonprofit dedicated to providing HIV awareness, counseling and health services for the community.
Every Friday at its award-winning cafe, Puso Bistro, guests can join the Friday Pride Buffet, a weekly celebration of flavor and diversity featuring festive dishes and themed desserts all in support of LoveYourself’s impactful programs. Exciting room promos are also available, with stays from June to August 2025 and a selling period running from June to July 2025.
Why Quest walks the talk
While some brands stop at rainbow logos, Quest Hotel goes all in. Its commitment to inclusivity shows up in tangible ways through year-round partnerships, internal initiatives and authentic support for Cebu’s LGBTQIA+ community.
One of its standout efforts is Q Spectra, an internal organization led by LGBTQIA+ staff members who organize inclusivity workshops, share lived experiences and make sure that the hotel remains an empowering space for all.
The Cebu Pride Movement (CPM), the city’s largest Pride organizer, stands firmly behind Quest’s efforts. “This is the kind of partnership we want to promote,” said CPM’s Matthew Basabe. “Every June at Quest feels like coming home,” added Enrique San Juan of CPM, expressing gratitude for the hotel’s continued support. That support has translated into ongoing initiatives that uplift and empower the community not just during Pride Month, but all year round.
“Since 2020, we’ve proudly launched our inclusivity programs, creating safe, welcoming spaces not only for our guests but also for our team members and corporate partners,” said Marylaw An Galanida, human resources director of Quest Hotels. S
