

REP. Eduardo “Edu” Rama Jr. of Cebu City’s 2nd District has been named deputy majority leader of the 20th Congress.
Rama announced the appointment in a Facebook post on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, expressing his gratitude.
“We are grateful to our colleagues in the House of Representatives for the trust they have placed in me as deputy majority leader of the 20th Congress,” Rama said in Cebuano.
“With the 2nd District of Cebu, we will continue to serve and support policies that will improve the lives of all Filipinos,” he added.
Meanwhile, Cordova Mayor Cesar “Didoy” Suan was elected president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines Cebu chapter on Friday, Aug. 8.
The election took place at Seda Ayala Center Cebu.
According to Cordova’s Public Information Office, Suan was the lone nominee for the position, receiving unanimous support from all 44 municipal mayors in the province.
He succeeds former Daanbantayan mayor Sun Shimura, who now represents Cebu’s 4th District. / CDF
