FOLLOWING the retirement of Dr. Peter Mancao as head of the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC), Assistant Medical Officer Dr. Anton Oliver Repusar II has been appointed officer-in-charge.

Outgoing Mayor Raymond Garcia said in a virtual conference on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, that the selection of a permanent head will be the responsibility of the incoming administration, considering his limited remaining days in office.

The mayor said that the process of hiring a permanent CCMC head involves interviews, examinations and other necessary procedures.

“Si Doc Mancao is already retired, and we have already put Dr. Repusar as the OIC kay siya may (because he is the) assistant,” Garcia said.

Garcia also announced that the winning bidder for the P700 million Phase 5 construction of the CCMC will be announced next week and the contract will be signed.

This announcement will pave the way for the resumption of construction on the hospital’s unfinished floors.

Garcia also committed to revealing the designated calendar days for the completion of the project, as stipulated in the contract, at the time of the announcement. / JPS
