FAST-RISING prospects Abubakar Yanon, Lourinz Biasong, and Gabriel Tapales will take center stage in Sanman Promotions’ latest boxing event on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Sunken Arena in Malungon, Sarangani Province.
Yanon (6-1, 6 KOs) will face seasoned veteran Ariston Aton (9-14-1, 5 KOs) for the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) flyweight title in the main event, while Biasong (5-2, 2 KOs) will slug it out with journeyman Ramel Antaran (6-30-3) and Tapales (7-1, 5 KOs) will go up against Ian Donaire (5-4-1, 4 KOs) in a couple of eight-rounders.
After suffering a majority decision loss to Ruben Davidas last year -- his only career defeat so far -- Yanon bounced back with two straight stoppage victories, knocking out Ernesto Camiguing in the third round and Christian Dave Puing in the first.
While Aton may not appear to be much of a threat to Yanon, he will surely give him a run for his money.
Aton is tough as nails and has only been stopped three times in his career. He has faced some of the best Filipino fighters in his weight division, like former world champio Vic Saludar, Joey Canoy, Jake Amparo, Christian Balunan, and John Michael Zulueta.
In the undercard, former world title challenger Froilan Saludar (36-8-1, 25 KOs) will keep himself busy against veteran Jenny Boy Boca (14-18, 12 KOs), Claire Villarosa (3-0, 1 KO) will lock horns with Briel Ozaraga (3-9-1, 1 KO), and Jerome Cometa will make his pro debut against Junrey Lawa (0-1). / EKA
