RAMIL Roda takes on Japanese amateur standout Ryang Ho Han for the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) International super-flyweight title in one of the main events of “Phoenix Battle in Seoul” Friday night, April 26, 2025, in Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea.

The 25-year-old Roda made weight at 114.8 pounds, while Han tipped the scales at 114.6 pounds.

This fight marks a couple of firsts for Roda: his first bout overseas and his first shot at a regional title.

Roda enters the ring fresh off the biggest victory of his young career. He stopped Ian Donaire in the fourth round to win the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super-flyweight belt last Dec. 11, 2024 in Mandaue City. He is currently riding on a six-fight winning streak since suffering his only career defeat in 2023.

Roda, however, will have his hands full against a talented fighter in Han. Despite having only three pro fights under his belt, Han, who just turned pro last year, is an experienced pug with over 70 fights as an amateur.

Han made an explosive pro debut, knocking out Thailand’s Surat Eaim Ong in the third round. He followed that up with an impressive one-sided unanimous decision victory over former regional champion Jakrawut Majungoen.

Han’s latest win was a fifth-round stoppage of Toma Kondo last year.

Roda is 7-1-2 with four knockouts, while Han is 3-0 with two knockouts.  / EKA
