TOP Philippine boxing promotional outfit Sanman Promotions has inked a deal with former amateur standout Criztian Pitt Laurente, adding him to its vast roster of talented Filipino fighters.

“We are very happy to welcome Criztian Pitt Laurente to Sanman Boxing,” said Sanman Promotions CEO JC Manangquil. “We thank him for trusting us to guide him toward becoming a world champion, and I truly believe he will be a world champion.”

The 25-year-old Laurente joins a loaded Sanman lineup that includes reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) minimumweight champion Melvin Jerusalem, former unified super-bantamweight king Marlon Tapales, and ex-interim WBC bantamweight titleholder Reymart Gaballo.

“Thank you to Sanman Boxing, my dad, and my family for believing in me. This is just the beginning, and I will give everything I’ve got,” Laurente said.

A native of Gen. Santos City, Laurente boasts an impressive amateur career. He won a bronze medal in the 2018 AIBA Youth World Championships and has struck gold in the Palarong Pambansa twice and in the Philippine National Games.

Laurente turned pro in 2019 and scored an impressive first-round stoppage of Rey John Indita. Since then, he has beaten seasoned opponents such as one-time world title challenger Ernesto Saulong, veteran Ernie Sanchez, ex-regional champion JR Magboo, and Richard Bulacan.

He is coming off a second-round knockout of Alvin Lagumbay on April 27, 2025, in Gen. Santos City.

Laurente is scheduled to make his Sanman debut in a regional title fight this August. He holds an unblemished professional record of 14 wins, with nine victories coming by knockout.  / EKA
