ALEX Santisima Jr. guns for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Far East featherweight strap Sunday, June 22, 2025, against Chinese Wensong Liu in Yantai, China.

Santisima attempts to extend his streak to four wins since suffering his first career loss last year and bag his first regional belt from one of the four major boxing sanctioning bodies.

Santisima is looking to extend his streak to four and win his first regional title from one of the four major boxing sanctioning bodies. Santisima Jr. holds the World Boxing Foundation Australasian super bantamweight title, a regional belt from a minor world sanctioning body, after a third-round knockout of Justine Darap last year in General Santos City. That fight was his first win after losing to Subaru Murata in Japan.

After his win over Darap, Santisima Jr. defeated Ryan Rey Ponteras and Ponciano Rimandiman, both by technical knockout.

On the other hand, Liu is a two-time regional champion and once had the WBC Asian and World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental featherweight straps around his waist.

Liu is coming off a sixth-round technical knockout win over Hanle Xie in China. He bounced back from two successive losses to Russian Artur Subkhankulov and Japanese Ryo Nakai.

Santisima is 11-1 with five knockouts, while Liu is 12-4-1 with nine knockouts.
