AS PART of its sports development program, the Saint Francis of Assisi School (SFAS) will once again hold basketball tryouts for incoming Grade 7 (12 years old) to Grade 11 (18 years old) students.
SFAS sports director and coach Danilo Alicaba said the four-day tryouts will be held at the SFAS basketball court on Wisdom Ext., Peace Valley in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, on May 31, June 1, 7 and 8, 2025 starting 3 p.m.
“This is open to all students from private and public schools. Those who qualify will receive almost free tuition. We are a small school, but we can offer scholarships,” Aguas said.
The SFAS Ravens actively participate in several local basketball tournaments in Cebu.
Last year, their 14-under team reached the finals of the Cebu Youth Basketball League (CYBL).
Aside from the CYBL, the Ravens participate in the Private Schools Developmental League, National Youth Basketball League, Hoop Kids, Marca, Cabca, as well as the Cebu City District Meet and Unit Meet.
“Here at SFAS, we also teach our athletes our core values: integrity, respect, responsibility and physical, mental and spiritual well-being,” Alicaba said.
The SFAS also has athletes competing in other sports, such as athletics. / JBM
