BALAMBAN-BASED Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu) Inc. has cemented its status as a global shipbuilding powerhouse with the launch of SC-432, an 82,400-metric ton Kamsarmax Bulk Carrier set for delivery to Europe.

This milestone highlights Tsuneishi’s commitment to producing high-quality vessels and further solidifies its leadership in the global maritime industry, said Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates in a statement.

Operating for over 30 years, Tsuneishi has launched nearly 400 ships and delivered over 370 vessels worldwide. Its shipbuilding facility is located in Balamban, Cebu, located within West Cebu Estate, managed by Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates.

Beyond shipbuilding, Tsuneishi’s operations contribute significantly to the Philippine economy, generating employment and attracting major investments. Its presence stimulates local industries and strengthens supply chains, reinforcing the Philippines’ position as a global maritime hub.

As the country’s largest shipbuilder, Tsuneishi benefits from West Cebu Estate’s integrated infrastructure and business-friendly environment, which have fostered a thriving maritime ecosystem.

Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates, which spans over 2,000 hectares has generated 100,000 jobs and attracted P167 billion in investments. In 2024 alone, its estates facilitated $3.43 billion in exports, showcasing the Philippines’ competitive edge in Southeast Asia. / KOC
