A DRUMMER from a Sinulog contingent and his cohort were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Alumnos, Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City, at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
The arrested individuals were identified as Victor Bohol Quijano, alias Vic-Vic, 45, a resident of Sitio Caimito and a drummer for Lumad Basakanon, and Arnold Tang Villamor, alias Biato, 38, from Sitio Panagsama.
Police seized nine packs of substance believed to be shabu weighing 0.30 grams, with an estimated street value of P2,040.
According to the Mambaling Police Station's investigation, they had been monitoring the suspects for illegal drug activity, which led to the operation.
Upon arrest, Villamor denied selling illegal drugs, claiming that he only used them to energize his body, especially since they frequently practice for the Sinulog dance.
The Mambaling Police Station will file charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Section II of Republic Act 9165 against the two suspects. (AYB)
