CARLO Bacaro suffered his first career defeat after absorbing a third-round knockout at the hands of unbeaten Russian Pavel Sosulin in their World Boxing Association (WBA) Asia middleweight bout on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at the Karen Demirchyan Sports Complex in Yerevan, Armenia.

Bacaro started aggressively in the opening round, but Sosulin defended his

attacks effectively.

Sosulin began to dictate the fight in the second round, connecting with his left hooks and uppercuts. He found an opening and sneaked in a solid left hook to the body that hurt and dropped Bacaro to one knee. Bacaro managed to beat the referee’s count and continued into the third round.

Sensing that Bacaro was still hurt, Sosulin pushed the pace. He then landed another vicious left hook that finally ended Bacaro’s night.

Bacaro dropped to 12-1 with eight knockouts, while Sosulin remained unbeaten with a 9-0 record, including five knockouts. (EKA)
