THE Meralco Bolts have shuffled its roster of coaches, tapping Luigi Trillo to become the team’s new head coach and relegating Norman Black to a consultancy role.
Nenad Vucinic has also been promoted to active consultant for a team that is looking to change its fortunes and become one of the PBA’s elite.
The change ends Black’s nine-year stint as the team’s head coach. Although he led the Bolts to four finals appearances in the Governors’ Cup, the team failed to nab the title all four times, the most recent of which came in the 2022 edition of the tournament.
“I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Meralco management and the MVP group for supporting myself and the Bolts,” Black said. “In addition, I wish to thank the players and my coaching staff for their hard work and positive attitudes in their efforts to make the team successful over the years. I now look forward to helping the team in my capacity as team consultant in our continued quest to bring a championship to the Meralco franchise,” said Black.
