IN LINE with her “education through sports” advocacy, Cebuana triathlete and beauty queen Katherine Dimataga Jumapao recently launched her “Move” campaign.
“I started days ago by gifting some friends with workout jerseys. It was just a simple gesture that hopefully inspires them to work out more regularly,” Jumapao said. She is starting with her community in Liloan, Cebu, and already has 300 jerseys ready for the first batch of distribution.
Aside from being active as an athlete, Jumapao is also a beauty queen and was crowned in 2018 as AAA Renaissance Cebuana.
“This is also part of my promise after being crowned AAA Renaissance Cebuana, to help promote sports and a healthy lifestyle.”
“Move” is a campaign aiming to encourage people to stay fit and healthy, and be able to fight off Covid-19 through exercise and a healthy diet.
“I’ve been running outside but also maintaining social distancing. I also do spinning at home,” she said.
“I encourage people to do the same just by simply advocating a healthy lifestyle to their own friends and family. I am hoping that this impacts more lives as we all try to continue living in spite of the pandemic.”
Recipients of the jerseys are a mix of fitness enthusiasts, coaches and public school athletes in Liloan, Cebu. Events and activities for Move will be updated through Jumapao’s Facebook page. (LQ3)
