LIQUID-Tile eliminated second seed Mondo Skimcoat after walking away with an 86-85 nailbiting overtime win in the semifinals of the Architects+Engineers Basketball Davies Paints Cup last Saturday night, Feb. 9, at the University of San Carlos Main Gym.
Michael Cinco converted the game-winning free throws after getting fouled in the waning moments of the game. Cinco had a monster game of 39 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and a block. Elmer Laguna chipped in 21 markers, nine boards and a block.
Mondo Skim Coat had a balanced offense with five players in double figures.
Bong Gabison led Mondo Skim Coat with 17 points, 10 boards, six assists, a steal and a block. Darren Moarandante had a triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. (EKA)
