FILIPINO-American Mark Climaco continues his ascent in the American MMA scene after another win in May.

Climaco, who has Cebuano roots, beat Rodney Kealohi by unanimous decision in Legacy Fighting Alliance 108: Fremd vs. Rodriguez on May 21 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA.

The 23-year-old Climaco displayed his superior wrestling and ground game and dominated Kealohi the whole fight.

Climaco had a couple of submission attempts like that rear-naked choke in the second round but Kealohi somehow survived the attempts.

Kealohi finished the strong with a kimura attempt and an elbow just at the end of the fight but it wasn’t enough to beat Climaco.

Climaco got the nod of all three judges with scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.

Climaco remained unbeaten with a record of 6-0, while Kealohi dropped to 5-2. Climaco trains at the American Kickboxing Academy, who produced the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Daniel Cormier, Cain Velazquez, Luke Rockhold and Jon Fitch.
