THE Consolacion Sarok Weavers made their title intentions known right away, as they crushed the hosts, Roxas Vanguards, in the 2022 Pilipinas Super League Under-21 Aspirants Division Invitational Cup on Friday afternoon, April 1, at the Manuel Roxas Sports Complex.

Consolacion imposed their will in the third period to turn a 31-35 deficit into a 53-39 lead. The Sarok Weavers fired on all cylinders in the third as Rojan Montemayor, Keaton Taburnal, Gyles Montano, Matt Flores, and CJ Alinin connived in a massive 22-2 run to give them full control of the match.

Montemayor, who previously played for the University of Santo Tomas in the UAAP, had a monster double-double of 11 points and 19 rebounds. Montaño, an ace of Lyceum in the high school ranks of the NCAA, added 11 markers of his own.

Keaton Taburnal and University of Southern Philippines Foundation standout Neon Chavez added nine markers apiece.

Randolph Lacquio led Roxas with 12 points.

Meanwhile, in the first game, the BYB Kapatagan Buffalos overwhelmed the KSB Iligan Crusaders, 113-83.

The two teams were separated by just five points at halftime but Kapatagan overpowered Iligan in the third period, outscoring the Crusaders, 37-22, to erect an insurmountable 91-64 lead.

Vlair Christopher Lingolingo had an impressive debut with 31 points and 20 rebounds to pace Kapatagan. (JNP)
