THE high-flying Cyrus Baguio will be coming out of retirement to play for Valenzuela XUR Homes Realty in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Season 4.

The 6-foor-2 Baguio will team up with the “Cebuano Sniper” Patrick Cabahug and Ronjay Buenafe to form a lethal triumvirate of veteran scorers for Valenzuela. This development was confirmed by Valenzuela team manager, Jhon Santos.

“Yes, lalaro na sya sa 18. Kaya may version na kami ng big 3. Patrick, Ronjay at Cyrus,” said Santos in a message.

It can be recalled that Baguio retired from the PBA in January 2021, ending a colorful 17-year career that saw him win three titles and play for the Philippine national team. The Iligan City-native started to make a name for himself in Cebu City, when he suited up for the Southwestern University-Phinma Baby Cobras.

After high school, the flashy wingman brought his talents to the University of Santo Tomas before being drafted 14th overall by Red Bull in the star-studded 2003 PBA Rookie Draft.

Baguio, who played for Red Bull, and Alaska before closing out his career with NLEX, was named to the Mythical Second Team twice and was the 2008 Most Improved Player.
