Eco challenges Kobayashi for WBO AsPac belt

ROSLAN Eco challenges fellow undefeated prospect Goki Kobayashi for his World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia-Pacific minimumweight strap on May 6, 2023 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

The 22-year-old Eco will be fighting for the first time internationally against a stiff opponent in Kobayashi.

Eco has all of his fights in Mindanao since his pro debut in 2019. He had a busy campaign last year, going 5-0, with wins against Michael Camelion, Jason Mopon, Mike Kinaadman, Ryan Ralozo and Charlie Malupangue.

The 24-year-old Kobayashi also had a fruitful year in 2022 with wins over fellow Japanese Sora Takeda, and Filipinos Cris Ganoza and Marco John Rementizo. He won the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific minimumweight belt with a convincing unanimous decision over Rementizo in Osaka. Kobayashi is currently rated No. 11 by the WBO.

Eco is 10-0 with seven knockouts, while Kobayashi is 5-0 with three knockouts.

Also seeing action in the same card are Pinoy warriors Claudevan Sese (9-3-3, 3 KOs) and Jason Buenaobra (10-7-3, 4 KOs)

Sese locks horns with Junya Shimada (3-0), while Buenaobra trades leathers with Kota Kaneko (2-0, 2 KOs). (EKA)
