FORMER San Beda Red Lions standout Sudan Daniel has passed away because of an apparent asthma attack.

Daniel, an American who made the Philippines his home after starring for San Beda and capturing the NCAA’s Most Valuable Player award back in 2010, recently turned 33 years old.

Reports have cited that he was in Batangas vacationing when the incident occurred.

Daniel will forever be remembered for his role in helping the Red Lions complete a perfect season back in 2010. With current PBA players Dave Marcelo and Jake Pascual, Daniel steered the Frankie Lim-coached team to an immaculate 18-0 record en route to capturing the NCAA title, the MVP and Finals MVP trophies.

After his collegiate career ended, he transitioned to being the manager of sportswear giant Titan. Later. he became the master of ceremonies for the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 tournaments. (JNP)
