Lausa returns to MMA cage

FORMER UFC fighter Jenel Lausa returns to end his losing slump as he takes on Abdula Aliev in UAE Warriors on March 26 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The 33-year-old Lausa lost his last four contests and hopes to return to the winning column. Lausa won his debut in the UFC in 2016, a unanimous decision win over Zhikui Yao in Australia. He then lost his next three UFC fights to Magomed Bibulatov, Eric Shelton and Yuta Sasaki, which got him cut in the UFC roster. He tried his luck at the Bahrain-based Brave CF but lost to Ryskulbek Ibraimov by unanimous decision last year.

Lausa will have his hands full against Aliev, who’s a 25-year-old unbeaten Russian prospect.

Aliev has been fighting in China-based WLF W.A.R.S., wherein he’s the WLF flyweight champion. He won the title in 2018 after a second round submission win over Madaerji Su. He successfully defended his belt thrice, beating Hao Bin Ma twice and Hao Bin Ma. He’ll be making his debut in UAE Warriors just like Lausa.

Lausa is 7-6 with four of his wins not going the distance, while Aliev is 10-0 with four knockouts and two submission victories.
