Pacatiw, Zamboanga see action in ‘ONE: Full Circle’ MMA event

PINOY prospects Jeremy Pacatiw and Drex Zamboanga are seeing action in the undercard of ONE Championship: “Full Circle” on Feb. 25, 2022 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Pacatiw looks to move up the bantamweight ladder as he takes on No. 4 rated bantamweight Fabricio Andrade.

The 25-year-old Team Lakay stalwart just recently made his ONE debut last July 22, 2021. He outclassed Chinese warrior Chen Rui.

Pacatiw fought most of his career in the Bahrain-based MMA organization Brave CF, wherein he went 10-4, before getting noticed by ONE.

Andrade, meanwhile, entered ONE by storm. He submitted veteran Filipino-Kiwi Mark Abelardo via a second round rear-naked choke in his ONE debut in 2020. He followed it up with two more impressive victories—a unanimous decision over experienced Japanese Shoko Sato and a first round stoppage of Chinese prospect Li Kai Wen.

Pacatiw is 11-4, while the 24-year-old Andrade is 6-2.

On the other hand, Zamboanga is up against Indian Rahul Raju in the show’s curtain-raiser.

The 28-year-old Zamboaga, the older brother of Filipina prospect Denice Zamboanga, started his career in the URCC in 2013. He tried his luck in Japan-based Shooto and Korea-based Angel’s Fighting but didn’t have much success. He finally followed the footsteps of his younger sister, Denice, and made waves in his ONE debut in 2020 after submitting Thai Detchadin Sorsirisuphatin.

Meanwhile, Rahu has bounced around from different organizations. He started out his career fighting in Singapore FC before a short stint in the URCC. He finally found his home in ONE in 2018.

Following back-to-back losses, the 30-year-old Rahu won a second round rear-naked choke of Otgonbaatar Nergui in 2021.

Zamboanga, who fights out of Marrok Force MMA Club in Thailand, is 9-5, while Raju is 8-6.
