THE Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers Cebu chapter will hold an open chess tournament to commemorate its 50th anniversary. The event will take place on July 15, 2023 at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
The tournament features a nine-round Swiss System format with a 10-minute time control and increment. Players of all levels will get a chance to compete for the grand prize of P8,000 with a trophy. Other prizes will be awarded to the top players, including P5,000 and a trophy for the first runner-up and P3,000 and a trophy for the second runner-up.
Special awards will be given in categories, such as senior (60 years old and above), women, kids (under 16 years old) and kids (under 12 years old). The registration fee is P300, while late registration is available for P350. The deadline for registration is July 14.
