The Radar Tires-2004 kept their flickering hopes for the semifinals alive after they clobbered the Bizol-2005, 83-61, in Division B of the 25th Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) last Sunday at the Magis Eagles Arena in Mandaue City.

The game was tied at 32-all at halftime, but Batch 2004 suddenly went on a rampage in the third, outscoring Batch 2005 by 20, 29-9, to erect a 61-41 lead heading to the last period.

Christopher Consunji led 2004’s balanced attack with 14 points, while Franco Te narrowly missed out on a second straight triple-double with 13 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists. Migz Ortiz added 11 markers as Batch 2004 improved to an even 4-4 with just one more game left on their elimination round schedule.

Elddie Cabahug tallied 33 points for 2005 which dropped to 1-6.

In the other Division B match, the Casino Ethyl Alcohol-2010 outlasted the Prince/Laptap/MYMC ZeroSix-2006, 77-68, to move to 5-2. It was a close game for most of the match but Batch 2010 just had enough firepower to subdue their opponents in the endgame to come away with the win.

Gabe Branzuela led 2010 with 25 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Kyle Wong added 15, all coming from behind the three-point arc. Jasper Diaz tallied a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds to go with an incredible six steals.
