THE Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) has released a list of the players that will comprise the pool for Window 6 of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers on February 24 and 27 at the Philippine Arena.

Three Cebuanos made the cut: six-time PBA Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo, former University of the Philippines (UP) ace Carl Tamayo, and veteran wingman, Roger Ray Pogoy.

They will be joined by players taken from the PBA, UAAP, and the B.League. There are also several first timers on the team led by Ateneo recruit Mason Amos, Adamson star Jerom Lastimosa, and former La Salle ace Schonny Winston. The team will also feature the Gilas’ new naturalized player, the Ginebra Kings’ beloved resident import, Justin Brownlee.

The rest of the pool includes guards Scotty Thompson, CJ Perez, Kiefer Ravena, and Chris Newsome; wingmen Jordan Heading, Ray Parks, and Francis Lopez; shooting forwards Dwight Ramos, Thirdy Ravena, Jamie Malonzo, Calvin Oftana, and Arvin Tolentino.

The big men of the Gilas pool are power forwards Japeth Aguilar and Kevin Quiambao, and centers Kai Sotto, Raymund Almazan, and the team’s other naturalized player, Ange Kouame.

The team will be taking on Lebanon and Jordan in Window 6. (JNP)
