The Sentra Plastics handily defeated the VDrink-Yoyi’s Pastries, 99-77, to grab hold of second place in Group B of the Metro Cebu Basketball League Season 6 last Saturday at the Cebu City Sports Institute.

VDrink-Yoyi’s actually had the upper hand after the first canto, 23-16, but Sentra turned it on in the second canto, unleashing a massive 33-12 run to take a 49-35 halftime lead.

Jake Diamante tried to rally VDrink-Yoyi’s with an impressive scoring explosion in the third canto that cut the deficit in half, 60-67. However, Sentra just had too much firepower down the stretch as they outscored VDrink-Yoyi’s, 32-17, in the final canto to bring home the easy win, their fifth in six games.

JZ Dizon led Sentra with 17 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while Daryl Guerrero had 16 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and a block.

Rauric Panimdim had 14, while VJ Baruc and Acer Go added 12 markers apiece.

In other games, Cokaliong-ARQ continued on their winning roll, decimating Tiger Roar by a whopping 72 points, 117-45.

Five players scored in double-figures for the team of businessmen Chase Cokaliong and Jason Arquisola led by the 25 points and 15 rebounds of former University of the Visayas standout Jerome Napao. Ryan Llanos added 23 markers, while Jon Chua and Elddie Cabahug notched 18 apiece. Jojo Araño produced a near double-double of 13 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Bakersfield dropped Enemiez, 86-80, as Bryle Puntual exploded for 37 points.

Aquila Transport Services also emerged triumphant over RBH, thanks to solid performances of King Osabel—who had 21 points and 12 rebounds—and Reggie Tagalog, who also scored 21 markers.

Lite Shipping also walloped Nikko’s Phenomenal, 98-72. Franco Te and Noel Canedo had 16 markers each to propel Lite Shipping in the dominant victory.
