Over a thousand runners filled the streets of Cebu Business Park to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Johndorf Ventures Corporation during the recent Johndorf Run, where athletes and community members vied for victory, prizes, and pride.
The event started and ended in front of the newly-inaugurated Johndorf Tower, a 21-storey corporate office in front of the Ayala Terraces, beside Ayala Life-FGU, along Mindanao Ave.
The race saw Kenyan Eric Chepsiror and Carolinian Artjoy Torregosa dominating the male and female divisions of the 12K category, finishing in 39:32 and 47:41 minutes, with Franklin Yee and Lizane Abella reigning the 9K class at 29:14 and 37:06.
Meanwhile, in the shorter distances, Jessie Alelgos (20:02) and Michelle Raniola (25:19) ruled the 6K division, while Kant Lloyd Gabiño (10:14) and Reilizha Kenfdra Cabiles (12:29) outpaced competitors in the 3K run.
Johndorf Ventures Corporation awarded ₱12,000 to the 12K champion and ₱9,000 to the 9K winner. Runners-up and third-place finishers also received generous cash prizes, these were on top of the gold, silver and bronze medals they earned.
Additional rewards included premium sportswear from ZEATH Sportswear, the official race and finisher shirt partner, and bomber jackets from 4Life Philippines for the top male and female finishers in all four categories.
The sponsors spelled the big difference during the event, noted assistant marketing manager Jannie Cañares. “It was more than just a mere fun run. Several participants won valuable prizes,” she pointed out.
Three runners drove home branded motorcycles they won in the post-race raffle: a Yamaha Fazzio, a Honda Beat, and a Skygo motorcycle.
One brought home with ₱20,000 worth of groceries, while two others each received two brand new Redmi Note 14 mobile phones, with six others receiving a Globe premium gift box each.
Seven enthusiasts also won ₱20,000 worth of gift certificates – one winner each from Puma, Adidas, Runnr, New Balance and Hoka, and two winners from Nike.
Meanwhile, Anytime Fitness awarded two-month memberships to six, plus month-long memberships to 12 others, and two-week free passes to 20 more.
Nature Spring, as the official hydration partner of the 2025 Johndorf Run, positioned water stations along the Cebu Business Park route.
