The TNT Tropang Giga stepped on the gas pedal early and never let off until the final buzzer to crush the Converge FiberXers, 116-95, in the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals on Wednesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Armed with a twice-to-beat advantage, TNT wanted nothing of that and zoomed off to a massive 28-point lead, 70-42, at halftime to set the tone for the match. The victory gave the Tropang Giga a ticket to the semifinal round where they now wait for the winner of the quarterfinal clash between the Magnolia Hotshots and the NLEX Road Warriors.

Mikey Williams—fresh off signing a contract extension with TNT—had 26 points, 24 of which he scored in the first half.

Troy Rosario had 18 points and seven rebounds, Roger Pogoy put up 16, while Jayson Castro notched 15 as the Tropang Giga players hit their shots early and often. Overall, TNT shot a remarkable 52% from the field.

Tyrus Hill led Converge with 18 points while Mike DiGregorio chipped in 14 markers.
