POLICE arrested a suspected high-value drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Suba, Cebu City on Monday night, March 24, 2025. The operation resulted in the confiscation of suspected shabu worth over P2.8 million and a firearm.

Alias Munda, 43, was apprehended around 9:50 p.m. along Belgium St. by operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit Intelligence Police of the Cebu City Police Office. The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and led by Lt. Loreto Tuliao Jr.

Authorities confiscated from the suspect approximately 417.3 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P2,837,640. A .38 revolver with two live bullets was also seized from him.

Police identified Munda, a resident of Sitio Bayanihan, Barangay Lahug, as a major drug distributor in the area. The arrest followed validation of his illegal drug activities by members of the Drug Enforcement Intelligence of the Pasil Police Station.

The suspect will face charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, specifically Sections 5 (sale of dangerous rrugs) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Article II. He will also be charged with violating RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and the Commission on Elections gun ban due to the possession of the firearm. / DVG
