Tagle leads CV gold haul

CENTRAL Visayas athletes have demonstrated outstanding performance in the ongoing 2025 Palarong Pambansa, securing a collection of golds, silvers, and bronze medals across various sporting disciplines on Thursday, May 29, in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

Leading the gold medal charge was Naina Dominique Tagle from Silliman University in Dumaguete City. Tagle triumphed in the secondary girls’ 1440 round archery, with Leila Jell Cano of Ilocos taking the silver and Cyrine Rondillas of Northern Mindanao the bronze.

Tagle also clinched the gold in the 60m archery event, where Isabella Unna Ejercito of Western Visayas won silver and Rondillas again took bronze.

Adding to her accolades, Tagle secured a silver medal in the 70m archery competition, where Emy Angela Peredo of CAR won the gold and teammate Jade Krista Toring of Labogon National High School in Mandaue City took the bronze.

In swimming, Kleone Mole of Victoriano D. Tirol Advance Learning Center in Tagbilaran claimed the gold in the secondary girls’ 1500m freestyle with a time of 19:12.34.

Stacey Arabella Bee of Western Visayas followed with silver (19:16.03), and Kacie Gabrielle Tionko, also from Dumaguete City, secured bronze (19:30.128).

Jazzmine Legaspi of Labangon Elementary School shone in elementary girls’ gymnastics, winning gold in the Cluster 2-vault. Lianne Theres Ong of Western Visayas took silver, and Samantha Dar of Calabarzon won bronze.

Claudwin Seven Toñacao from Araneta Academy Inc. in Bogo City dominated the elementary boys’ tennis singles, earning the gold. Marcus Go of NCR took silver, and Gabriel Sebastian Vitaliano, also of NCR, claimed bronze.

The elementary boys’ tennis doubles saw James Andrio Estrella and Jye Lexis Villaceran of Asturias Central Elementary School clinch the gold.

Brex Beltran and Javin Quibido of Northern Mindanao secured silver, while Ericson Barquio and Rhannel Jhon Regir of Eastern Visayas won bronze.

Khalilah Kate Imalay of Rosemont Hills Montessori College in Danao City emerged victorious in the secondary girls’ tennis singles. Marielle Alexi Jarata of Ilocos won silver, and Chelsea Mei Bernaldez of Davao and Saze Dah Richly Nillama of Western Visayas shared the bronze.

Etha Nadine Seno from the City of Bogo Science and Arts Academy took the gold in elementary girls’ singles tennis, with Ma. Caroliean Fiel of Eastern Visayas winning silver and Joella Marie Sanchez of Northern Mindanao the bronze.

Silver medalists

Stacey Eunice Mag-aso earned the silver in the elementary girls’ gymnastics Cluster 1-vault event, with Chalsea Belle Louise Tuazon of Davao Region taking gold and Carys Esther Navalta of Ilocos Region the bronze.

In secondary girls’ arnis extra-lightweight division, Angel Grace Tampus secured the silver, with Chealsea Faith Lumapay of Davao winning gold and Nicole Enriquez of NCR and Ysai Winsleth Lorejo of Caraga sharing the bronze.

Bernardo Salva Jr. also brought home the silver in the secondary boys’ arnis extra-lightweight category, with Jaino Inas Galzote of Ilocos winning gold and Liomar Aggabao of Calabarzon the bronze.

Adding to the medal tally, Matthew Constancio Auditor won a bronze in the secondary boys’ arnis pinweight division. Chris Jan Dainelle De Juan of NCR took the gold, and Lawrence Cemine of Eastern Visayas and Majed Yusop of Barmm shared the bronze.

As of noontime Thursday, Central Visayas is in ninth place with 14 golds, 15 silvers, and 27 bronze medals. The National Capital Region continued their dominance with 71 golds, 50 silvers, and 27 bronzes. / SunStar Cebu Sports
