A 27-YEAR-OLD taxi driver was taken into custody after allegedly forcing his 19-year-old passenger to perform oral sex with him around 7 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in Sitio Sudlon, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.
The suspect, only identified as Benz, from Barangay Botong, Pinamungajan, Cebu, is now detained at the Mabolo Police Station.
According to the victim's father, Lando, his son boarded the taxi at the IT Park, where he works as call center agent, on his way home to Barangay Guadalupe.
The driver allegedly showed his interest in the victim during the ride by kissing his cheek and touching his legs.
After the event, the driver proceeded to Guadalupe to drop the victim, who was crying, prompting the habal-habal drivers to ask what had happened.
The habal-habal drivers in the area then intercepted the taxi driver and handed him over to the Mabolo Police Station.
During police interrogation, the suspect maintained that the victim was the first to touch him, although he admitted that he was attracted to him.
According to Police Major Romeo Caacoy Jr., chief of the Mabolo Police Station, the taxi driver will be charged with rape notwithstanding his statements. (AYB)
