
A 15-YEAR-OLD boy was killed, while his twin brother was in critical condition after their motorcycle they were riding collided with another vehicle along the national highway in Barangay Ginablan, Badian town, Cebu, around 6 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2025.
The fatality was identified as Janssen Luke Caballero Ermac, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Badian, who was declared dead on arrival at the Badian District Hospital.
His twin, Eugene Luis, was in critical condition following the crash. According to police, the brothers were headed toward Poblacion when their motorcycle collided with a car driven by Joey Gimenez Zamora, 28, of Barangay Masa, Badian.
Witnesses said the motorcycle was speeding and had veered into the opposite lane before the collision.
The force of the impact threw both riders off the vehicle, resulting in severe injuries.
Responders from the Badian police and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) brought the victims to the hospital.
Two passengers of the car, both residents of Dumanjug, were also injured and brought to the hospital for treatment.
Though initial investigation showed the motorcycle driver was at fault, Zamora was brought to the police station and is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property. (AYB)
