Delicadeza is a Filipino word that means having good manners, respect and a sense of what is right and wrong. It means being honest, humble and thinking about others before yourself. In the Philippines, delicadeza is a very important value, especially for leaders. Senators and congressmen are leaders who make laws and decisions for the country. People expect them to have delicadeza, but many wonder if this value is still alive in the Senate and House of Representatives today.

The Senate and House of Representatives have a big role in the country. They are supposed to serve the Filipino people with honesty and respect. Delicadeza means these leaders should avoid actions that make people lose trust in them. They should not lie, cheat, or use their power for their own benefit. Instead, they should work for the good of the country and its citizens.

Sadly, many Filipinos feel that delicadeza is missing in these government offices. Some lawmakers have been involved in scandals and corruption. Some use their positions to gain money or favors unfairly. Others argue and fight in public, forgetting the respect they owe to their colleagues and the Filipino people. These behaviors cause many citizens to lose faith in their leaders.

When leaders lack delicadeza, the whole country suffers. People start to believe that all politicians are dishonest and selfish. This creates anger and disappointment. It also makes it hard for honest and hardworking leaders to do their jobs because people do not trust the government anymore.

However, not all leaders have lost delicadeza. Many senators and congressmen work honestly and respectfully. They listen to the people’s needs and try to make laws that help improve the lives of Filipinos. These good leaders show us that delicadeza is still alive in politics. They remind us that true leadership means serving others with humility and care. The Filipino people also have a role. We must choose leaders who show delicadeza and good character. We should watch closely what our leaders do and hold them responsible for their actions. Voting wisely and speaking out against wrongdoing help keep the government honest and respectful.

Delicadeza is a very important value that should guide our senators and congressmen. Many Filipinos feel it is missing today, but there are still leaders who practice it well. We, as citizens, should support these good leaders and demand respect and honesty from all politicians. Delicadeza should never be forgotten in our government because it is the key to good leadership and progress for the Philippines.
