
The protests and petition may take longer than usual, with tough cause of complaint: in Mandaue City and Cebu City, alleged failure or manipulation of machines and, in Lapu-Lapu City, vote buying.
The protests of Mandaue’s Jonas Cortes and Cebu City’s Mike Rama were separately filed last week before Comelec in Manila.

In that first round, Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco, the only Cebuana in BBM’s Cabinet, was not included in the list of those retained or replaced. Garcia-Frasco offered her courtesy resignation Thursday, May 22.
