JOPERSON Trazo dominated Marlon Alejandro in a one-sided affair and claimed the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) minimumweight title with a unanimous decision victory in the main event of Chao Sy Promotions’ “Fists of Fury 5: Sumbagay sa Talisay” on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, at the Barangay Lagtang Gym in Talisay City.

Trazo dropped Alejandro in the third round with a left hook to the body and knocked him down again in the sixth with a right uppercut.

Trazo stayed unbeaten at 5-0-1 with one knockout, while Alejandro fell to 6-6-2 with one knockout.

Despite being battered throughout fight, Alejandro managed to survive Trazo’s relentless onslaught and reached the final bell.

Judges Rolando Mendoza and Tony Pesons had identical scores of 80-70 in favor of Trazo, while Arnel Pasion saw it slightly closer at 78-72.

Meanwhile, Jefre Jimenez (4-0, 2 KOs) and Vicente Unidos (3-0, 2 KOs) also kept their unbeaten slates after stopping their respective opponents.

Jimenez stopped Cerwin Genosas (2-4, 2 KOs) in the second round, while Unidos scored a second-round technical knockout against Venjie Patac (2-11-1, 1 KO).

Dave Peñalosa (18-1, 12 KOs) made a successful return to the ring with a unanimous decision victory over Vicente Casido (6-6-1, 2 KOs).

Dave, the son of former two-division world champion Dodie Boy Peñalosa, returned to boxing after a two-year layoff. / EKA
