Continuing its legacy as a key driver of Cebu’s journey towards global competitiveness is Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2025, spearheaded by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI). CBM was officially declared by then President Fidel Ramos in 1996 through Presidential Proclamation 748. As it celebrates its 29th year on May 30, 2025, it will carry the theme “Padayon Cebu,” focusing on resilience, growth and innovation across various industries.

This year, CBM will span three months bringing together industry leaders, entrepreneurs and key stakeholders to foster collaboration, drive and accelerate the success of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in an ever-evolving market.

According to CBM chairman Consul Anton Mari Perdices, “The core of the initiative Is about creating meaningful connections, for people to network more, and highlighting the value of continuous learning through forums and discussions on trends and innovations.”

CCCI president Jay Yuvallos echoed his vision with a call for province-wide participation saying, “If January is known for Cebu’s religious festivals, then June should be celebrated for our business side.”

Among the key events of CBM 2025 is the Opening Salvo scheduled for May 30. This event will officially kick off the month-long celebration. The “Good Design, Good Business” Summit follows on June 5. On June 20, the spotlight shifts to technology and innovation during a dedicated forum hosted at a prominent city hotel, gathering industry leaders, experts and stakeholders.

The Tourism Forum and Experiential Tour will take place on June 26, and then a Business Investment Forum is set for July 9, aiming to attract local and international investors. The MSMEs Educational Tour will be held on July 11 with participants visiting various sites operated by Cebu’s leading industry players.

From July 17 to 19, a culinary celebration titled “Cebu in a Bite” Food Festival will take place, coinciding with a large-scale digital content creator gathering during the same dates. A Hackathon is slated for August at Mactan-Cebu International Airport, focusing on ideas to improve operational efficiency and elevate the passenger experience.

To conclude the season, a Creative Entertainment Business Forum will run from Aug. 28 to 30, highlighting opportunities and growth in the entertainment and content creation industries.

The collective and valuable backing of CBM 2025’s Omnibus Partners signals a powerful vote of confidence in CCCI’s goal. Their involvement will help transform CBM into a landmark event — not just for Cebu, but for the entire country.

These partners include key players from the energy, financial services, telecommunications, real estate, retail and aviation sectors. Their support strengthens the momentum toward making CBM a dynamic, high-impact initiative. Hotel partners from premier properties across Cebu and Mactan, along with the official merchandise partner, also play an important role in this shared effort.

CCCI invites businesses, entrepreneurs and stakeholders to join CBM 2025, which aspires to earn a place in the global calendar — a true business festival for the world.

It can only happen if all of us say: “Padayon Cebu!”
