A WAITER was arrested by Mabolo police after being accused of molesting a 17-year-old girl.
The incident occurred at 6 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, in Upper Peace Valley, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.
The suspect was identified only by his alias, Peter. He is 31 and a neighbor of the victim.
Based on the investigation by the Mabolo Police Station, the victim, identified as “Rose,” first reported the incident to the barangay officials.
According to Rose, the suspect touched her chest and buttocks.
Officials from Barangay Lahug quickly coordinated with the Mabolo Police Station, which led to Peter’s arrest.
In her statement to the police, Rose said she was sleeping in their living room when the suspect suddenly entered their house and allegedly groped her.
The victim did not expect the suspect’s actions because they were neighbors.
The suspect is also a coworker of her older sibling, which is why he was used to coming in and out of their house.
The victim is determined to press charges to ensure the suspect is jailed and held accountable for his actions.
The waiter will face charges of Acts of Lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. / AYB
