World Music Day is bigger than you think. What began as a celebration in the streets of Paris has grown into a global phenomenon that brings together musicians, especially from the indie scene, for a shared love of music. And Cebu is no exception.

For the 31st Philippine edition of Fête de la Musique, Cebu is stepping up with what could be its biggest celebration yet: a two-day music festival featuring over 70 acts, completely free and open to all.

Festival director and Melt Records co-founder Dexter Sy, along with Gauthier Carol of Alliance Française de Cebu, recently met with the community and members of the press on June 9, 2025 in La Parisienne Lahug, Cebu City to announce the lineup and venues. Over the past four years, the festival — co-presented by Alliance Française de Cebu and M. Lhuillier Financial Services Inc. — has grown into a platform that helps legitimize and elevate the local independent music scene, connecting artists with Cebuanos and institutions alike.

“Fête de la Musique has been an excellent platform for us to showcase the best of what local music offers, in all its forms,” Dexter shared, adding that the event is made possible each year through the spirit of volunteerism.

The Main Stage kicks off on June 21 at Ayala Malls Central Bloc’s Corte Garden, featuring local favorites and rising talents from different music scenes.

On June 28, the celebration continues with Pocket Stages across seven community venues. Each one offers a more intimate, genre-specific experience with its own personality and energy.

Here’s who’s performing on June 21 (Main Stage) and June 28 (Pocket Stages):
