A SHOOTING incident during an alleged illegal demolition in San Roque, Bangkal, Davao City, left one person dead early on January 29, 2025.
According to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), residents clashed with a demolition team, resulting in chaos and violence.
The Talomo Police Station reported that more than 200 individuals were involved in the incident. Law enforcement, including personnel from Talomo Police, the 1st Davao City Mobile Force Company (CMFC), and Swat, quickly responded and arrested 65 people, including nine minors, who were handed over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
During the confrontation, the suspect "Jun Jun/Libat" accidentally shot his companion, 30-year-old Nolly Campos, who later died in the hospital. "Jun Jun/Libat" fled the scene, and authorities have launched a manhunt for his arrest.
Weapons recovered during the operation were secured as evidence, while those arrested were brought to Talomo Police Station for further investigation. JPC
