DAVAO DEL SUR — Two men were arrested on Sunday, January 5, 2025, in Barangay Astorga, Sta. Cruz. One was apprehended for an outstanding rape case warrant, while the other was caught with smuggled cigarettes.
"Alias Badi," the suspect with the rape warrant, was arrested during a routine operation.
While serving the warrant, police discovered another man arranging master cases of smuggled cigarettes. When asked for documentation, the man failed to provide any, leading to the confiscation of goods valued at P2.25 million.
Both men will face charges under Republic Act 10643 (Graphic Health Warnings Law) and Republic Act 12022 (Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act). JPC
