
THE Department of Labor and Employment-Davao Region (Dole-Davao) reported that around 200 job seekers were hired on the spot during the 123rd Labor Day Job Fair held on May 1, 2025, at SM City Davao.
A total of 1,152 job seekers participated in the fair, with 249 qualified as near-hires—candidates who will proceed to the next round of interviews. The event featured 6,741 job vacancies from 45 employers, with customer service representative roles topping the list at 1,723 openings.
Dole-Davao Regional Director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy led the job fair and the Kadiwa trade fair, also awarding P6.7 million worth of livelihood and training grants to various beneficiaries.
“Affirming the agency’s commitment to empowering workers and uplifting communities,” Dole-Davao said in their Facebook post.
A new set of regular members for the Regional Tripartite Peace Council-Davao Region was also introduced. The members include elected Vice Chairpersons from both the management and labor sectors across various industries such as academe, agri-business, construction, domestic maritime, IT-BPM, mining, manufacturing, and tourism.
Pensoy also announced that a total of 9,188 job vacancies were available across the region, both for local and overseas employment. The administrative and support services sector offered the most jobs at 3,504 vacancies, followed by wholesale and retail trade, financial and insurance services, manufacturing, banking, hospitality, and health and wellness industries.
Simultaneous job fairs were also held on April 30 in Digos City (Gaisano Grand Mall) and Tagum City (City Hall Atrium), and on May 1 in Davao City (SM City Davao) and Nabunturan, Davao de Oro (Nabunturan National Comprehensive High School). RGP with reports from PIA
