
FOUR graduates from Davao City universities secured spots in the Top 10 of the May 2025 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE), according to results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on June 4.
Rica Mae Davis Marbebe from the University of Mindanao ranked fifth with a score of 90.33 percent.
Axelvhox Diaz Ompod and Lyle Joyce Mondroid Saturninas, both from the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), tied for sixth place with 90.17 percent. Jasper Gementiza Enumerables, also from the University of Mindanao, placed 8th with 89.67 percent.
Lyle Joyce M. Saturninas, one of the topnotchers from USeP, graduated summa cum laude and was the valedictorian of the Class of 2024, earning her accountancy degree just last year.
Out of 9,533 examinees, 3,156 passed the CPALE, resulting in a 33.11 percent national passing rate. The exams were held from May 25 to 27 across various testing centers nationwide, including Davao.
John Elrich Ramirez Gamboa from the University of the Philippines Diliman topped the exam with 92.67 percent, followed by Aleya Francis Romanes de Guzman of De La Salle University-Manila with 91 percent, and Jianna Chelsea Suarez Iral of Holy Angel University in third place with 90.83 percent.
The University of the Philippines Diliman was named the top-performing school, achieving a 100% passing rate. DEF
