
The Philippine entertainment scene keeps evolving, yet some actors remain familiar faces in movies, TV shows, and even social media feeds. Here are five male Filipino celebrities whose projects and appearances continue to draw attention:
Alden Richards
Alden Richards started out fulfilling his late mother’s dream of seeing him on TV. He joined male pageants and commercials before landing his first leading role in the 2011 afternoon soap Alakdana opposite Louise delos Reyes. He later gained wider recognition through the noontime show Eat Bulaga! as part of the “AlDub” pairing with Maine Mendoza, which drew massive fan support online and on TV.
He starred in Hello, Love, Goodbye with Kathryn Bernardo in 2019 and its sequel Hello, Love, Again in 2024, both of which attracted large audiences. Richards is also working on his directorial debut, Out of Order, a drama thriller he will star in and co-produce.
David Licauco
David Licauco began as a model and was named first runner-up in Mr. Chinatown 2014. He made his acting debut in The Praybeyt Benjamin and later took on roles in shows like Mulawin vs. Ravena and TODA One I Love. His role as Fidel de Los Reyes in Maria Clara at Ibarra in 2022 earned him acting awards and a surge of support from viewers.
He also runs a restaurant called Kuya Korea, which serves Filipino-Korean dishes. Recently, he has appeared in projects like Pulang Araw and the movie Samahan ng Makasalanan.
Donny Pangilinan
Donny Pangilinan started on TV as a disc jockey for Myx in 2016 before moving to acting and music. He became more widely known through the series He’s Into Her in 2021 with Belle Mariano, which built a strong fanbase for their tandem “DonBelle.”
Since then, he has starred in Can’t Buy Me Love and the movie How to Spot a Red Flag. In 2025, he joined Pilipinas Got Talent as one of its judges, adding to his growing list of TV appearances.
Joshua Garcia
Joshua Garcia first appeared on Pinoy Big Brother: All In as a teen housemate before shifting to acting. His breakout came with the 2016 film Vince & Kath & James. Since then, he has starred in films like Love You to the Stars and Back and I Love You, Hater.
His reunion film with Julia Barretto, Un/Happy for You, also drew strong interest. Garcia is also set to appear in It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, a local adaptation of a Korean drama, co-starring Anne Curtis.
Daniel Padilla
Daniel Padilla, known for both acting and music, started in the teen series Gimik 2010 and rose to prominence with Princess and I. His work with Kathryn Bernardo in series like Got to Believe and Pangako Sa 'Yo, as well as in films like She’s Dating the Gangster and The Hows of Us, attracted a wide following. In 2024, news of his breakup with Kathryn Bernardo made headlines, sparking discussions among fans and netizens. His recent project, Incognito, an action drama, is among his latest shows.
