A GRADUATE of Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) secured a top spot in the recently concluded Philippine Nurses Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE), results of which were released on Thursday, June 20.
Julius Pacaña Junatas achieved the third highest rating nationwide with a score of 85.20 percent, making him the highest-ranking examinee from Mindanao in the international version of the country’s nursing board exam.
Topping the list was Charisciel Ramos Marigza from Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas, Inc., who garnered an impressive 90.40 percent.
A total of 390 examinees passed out of 1,029 takers, according to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
The examinees were Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) based in key international cities, including Abu Dhabi and Dubai (United Arab Emirates); Al-Khobar, Jeddah, and Riyadh (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia); Doha (Qatar); Manama (Bahrain); Salmiya (Kuwait); Singapore; and Taipei (Taiwan).
The SPLE is a special licensure exam administered by the PRC for qualified Filipino professionals who are currently based abroad. This allows OFWs, particularly those in regulated professions like nursing, to acquire or renew their Philippine licenses without returning to the country.
The SPLE is held annually in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and Philippine embassies or consulates. For many, it serves as a pathway to career advancement or compliance with international employment standards. DEF
