AROUND 2,000 participants are expected to join the annual Angels Walk for Autism, which will take place on April 13, 2025, at SM City Davao to commemorate World Autism Month, according to an official from the Autism Society Philippines (ASP).
Uswaldo Parreñas, president of ASP-Davao, shared during the Kapehan sa Dabaw on April 7, 2025, that the event aims to raise awareness and promote the inclusion of individuals on the autism spectrum.
“Talagang ina-advocate natin so that at least all our children with autism can fully participate and with the help of our community (We advocate for full participation of children with autism, and with the support of our community, we hope to make this possible),” he said.
Parreñas said that the walk is a collective effort led by ASP-Davao, with parents and advocates joining in to drive positive change.
The event is open to the public and will feature performances by children showcasing their talents, such as singing and dancing. Participants will also wave flaglets to show their support during the walk. Registration is free, and snacks will be provided for all attendees.
In 2024, the event saw around 800 to 1,000 participants, including families, students, and individuals with autism.
