GOVERNOR Raul Mabanglo is working to fix Davao de Oro’s hospitals and bring essential services closer to remote communities.
Provincial Administrator Ivan Kleb Ulgasan shared the update during the Davao de Oro Peace Press Corps conference on July 31.
He said Mabanglo’s administration is focused on upgrading provincial hospitals and setting up more service hubs closer to the people.
“Kalamboan sa provincial hospitals ug serbisyong duol sa katawhan, sentro sa programa ni Gov. Mabanglo (Developing our hospitals and bringing services to the barangays are top priorities under Gov. Mabanglo’s leadership)," Ulgasan said in Bisaya.
Mabanglo saw the problems firsthand while visiting hospitals around the province.
Just days into office, he formed Task Force Kahimsog—a team of department heads he tapped to inspect hospital conditions and push for urgent improvements.
Backed by Reps. Maricar Zamora-Mabanglo, Jhong Ceniza, and private donors, the province delivered beds, fans, and medicines to hospitals in Montevista, Pantukan, Laak, and Maragusan—providing relief to patients and staff as longer-term fixes take shape.
Mabanglo is adding more “Maduolan Centers” to bring government services closer, with new sites planned in Maco, Mabini, and Pantukan.
“Dili lang pasabot nga ang Kapitolyong Maduolan, ang tao muduol sa Kapitol, kay ang gusto ni Gov ang mga serbisyo na mismo ang ipaduol sa katawhan (It doesn’t just mean that people should go to the Capitol when we say Kapitolyong Maduolan — what the Governor wants is for the services themselves to be brought closer to the people),” Ulgasan added.
He said that as an engineer, Mabanglo prefers hands-on leadership. Since day one, he’s been fast-tracking infrastructure projects in the province through his KaLAMBOan program, which focuses on sustainable growth and innovation. DEF
