AN award-winning BPO company and AI-powered customer engagement technology solutions provider, ibex, launched its second site in Davao City offering around a thousand jobs for Dabawenyos and nearby residents.
With a starting capex of US$5 to $6 million, ibex opened its latest customer experience (CX) service center at Felcris Centrale on December 9, 2024.
Bob Dechant, ibex CEO, and ibex Philippines president Potski Alvarez revealed that the safety, talents, and infrastructure the city has to offer made them decide to expand their site.
"In general, BPO companies' basic criteria usually safety is paramount, the talents, the clients' perception, the cost of labor, and I'm glad that the city government is very supportive of us," Alvares said.
"Safety and the infrastructure, aside from the cost of labor," Dechant added.
Meanwhile, Dechant revealed that at the moment they will be occupying the eighth floor of the mall and will be expanding to another floor next year, increasing its capex to around US$5 million more.
On the other hand, Alvarez says the new site would open around 800 seats for agents and an increment of 800 once the other floor is added, excluding the support system which would also employ more than 200 individuals.
PhilJohn Trinidad, senior site director of ibex Davao said that their first site at SM Lanang is currently employing around 1,500 agents, totaling around 1,900 including the support and management teams.
In addition, Alvarez said with the new site, they are now looking at employing over 3,500 talents in the future.
Alvarez also said that although expansion to other areas in the region is in the pipeline, they could not reveal yet the specific place they are planning to build their next hub.
Their Felcris Centrale is ibex's ninth site in the Philippines. Other ibex hubs are located in Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Pasig City, ParaƱaque, City of Muntinlupa, Davao City, and Tagbilaran City. CEA
