A BARANGAY councilor from Padada, Davao del Sur, was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Isidro on the evening of January 16, 2025.
The operation was conducted by the Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Davao Region (Pdea-Davao), the Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Padada Municipal Police Station (MPS).
The 36-year-old councilor, identified as alias "Sadam," was caught allegedly selling a packet of suspected shabu worth P8,000.
Authorities also seized four additional packets of illegal drugs, weighing 19 grams with an estimated value of P129,000.
The suspect is now in the custody of Padada MPS and faces charges under the Republic Act (RA) 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
This arrest underscores local authorities’ ongoing efforts to combat the illegal drug trade in the region. DEF
