TRUST in the Lord’s ways, and everything will fall into place—this has been a constant mantra for restaurant owners like Aimee Marizz Matic and Christian Matic in continuing their venture in the business arena.

Buddy’s Treat was named after the endearment of loving couples Aimee and Christian to each other. Christian’s Kapampangan origins nevertheless set the bar in meeting the Filipino appetite. Partnered with his loving wife’s interest in business definitely made them a power duo. But for them, there was a bigger person whom they would take the credit for.

“Napag-isipan namin kung magtatayo man kami ng business, si Lord ang magiging sentro nito para gamitin Niya ang restaurant para sa mga taong gustong magpahinga at kumain ng masarap (We thought if we were going to start a business, the Lord will be the center of this and He will use this restaurant for those people who want to rest and have a tast of good food),” Aimee said.

For Christian, he was overwhelmed with the warm welcome of Dabawenyos in Mintal in accepting Buddy’s Treat.

“Hindi namin inexpect kasi katabi lang namin was another restaurant so definitely meron na talagang competition, but still nagpapasalamat pa rin po kami sa mga customers na tumangkilik sa Buddy’s Treat (We never expected because just right beside us was another restaurant, so definitely, the competition is already there, but still, we are very thankful to our customers who patronized Buddy’s Treat),” Christian said.

That time he just thought in continuing what they started and serve their customers as best as they can.

“Confident rin kami kasi we have best chefs from known restaurants in the city. Somehow, alam namin na we are serving good food (We are also confident because we have the best chefs from known restaurant in the city. Somehow, we now we are serving good food),” he said.

For Aimee, creating a good relationship with their restaurant crews is an important aspect in maintaining quality service of the restaurant.

“Hindi lang naman yan sila workers lang eh, syempre may mga buhay rin silang sinusuportahan, at may makokontribute rin sila sa progress ng business (They are not just workers, they have lives to support as well, and they can contribute in the progress of the business),” Aimee said.

For southern Dabawenyos who seek for an Asian cuisine trip, you must not miss Buddy’s Treat.

With their all-time favorites like Buddy’s beefy rice bowl, Buffalo wings, and Cheesy beef sliders, all for an affordable price, a delightful food trip is about to wait.

Buddy’s treat is located along Davao-Bukidnon road, Mintal, Davao City.
