THE AirAsia Management announced that the Davao-Kuala Lumpur route will be extended until the end of this year.
“I am pleased to inform you that the management has decided to keep this route until the end of this year,” Davao Travel Agencies Association (DTAA) president and general manager of Globalwings Travel and Tours Alexander Divinagracia said through a Facebook post on Tuesday, August 7.
Divinagracia said that this was an update due to the past management’s decision by Air Asia in cancelling the Davao-Kuala Lumpur route by August 21 of this year.
Davao City Tourism Operations Office (DCTOO) head Generose Tecson through a phone interview on Wednesday, August 8 said though the direct route is scheduled to be suspended, tourists from Kuala Lumpur are still welcome in visiting Davao City.
Tecson added the City tourism office together with the Davao City Investment Promotions Center will be having a roadshow in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur by September 2018.
Tecson said the plan for the roadshow will still be created in order to organize the flow of the event.
In a data from CTOO in January 2018, visitor traffic reached 169,638 tourists, a 13.8 percent increase as against 149,000 in January 2017.
