LEGASPI Oil plans to establish a farmers’ lounge in Davao to better assist copra farmers, an official from Legaspi Oil said.

Legaspi Oil interim general manager Jaime Jose said oil companies must secure a better farmer-trader relations by also providing comfort and ease in trading. After all, he said, customers and farmers must be served well.

“This is the first time that there is a designated place for farmers in any oil company. It is also part of our commitment in being of service to our Filipino copra farmers,” Jose said during Kapehan sa Dabaw on Monday, September 3, at SM City Davao.

He said the lounge is patterned after a similar facility in their branch in Iligan City.

“Tinitingnan namin na baka pwede ilagay siya sa may pagitan ng admin office at ng oil mill sa Legaspi Oil sa Sasa (We are looking at establishing it between the admin office and the oil mill at Legaspi Oil in Sasa),” Jose said in an interview.

He said he had conceptualized the facility.

“Some of the designs were personally made, wala namang arkitekto eh ako lang gumawa. So yung mga sobrang kahoy na hindi na ginagamit yun ang ginamit kong para maipatayo ang lounge sa Iligan (Some of the designs were personally made, there was no architect then, so I was the one who planned it. The excess wood which were unused were the ones used in making the lounge in Iligan),” Jose said.
